The Council of European Jamaats is running its annual ‘Youth Development Programme’ for those aged 18-24 of the community (Cost: £100)
The aim of the Youth Development Programme is to develop personal and hence leadership capacity across the youth in CoEJ. The type of youth that will enable our communities to meet the challenges posed by the future and to fully serve the common good of their community and wider society.
– To raise the self esteem and confidence of the participants
– To enable participants to work outside their comfort zones
– To enable participants to become more self aware and aware of others
– To enable participants to appreciate and value differences
The educational principles underpinning the youth development programme use adult learning models and require participants to fully and actively engage in the process of learning. The programme will enable participants to explore assumptions, beliefs and attitudes about themselves, their communities, the environments in which they operate and the wider in order to enable them to ‘do differently’ where necessary and possible. We know learning is enhanced by feeling comfortable and having fun so expect this to be part and parcel of the weekend.
The cost for the YDP this year is £100
