The weekend of Friday 21st October to Sunday 23rd October saw 21 participants come from all over Europe to engage and participate in our 2nd CoEJ Mentors Training. The event took place in Kents Hill Park, Milton Keynes and we were delighted to host 9 participants from Paris, France for this. The training started on Friday morning 9am with a Quranic Reflection and a reminder of the values and concepts from LDP. After Salaatul Dhuhr and Lunch, participants then had the opportunity to learn and practice stage one of the Egan Skilled Helper Model. Salatul Maghrib was then prayed with the participants getting the chance to have dinner and have an early night.
Saturday 22nd October was Day 2 of the programme. Having had a hearty breakfast, participants started the day with a Quranic Reflection and the day was spent understanding, questioning and experiencing stage 2 as well as stage 3 of the Egan Skilled Helper Model. Participants were divided into trios which gave each a chance to mentor, be mentored and observe actively.
Sunday 23rd October was the final day of the programme which gave all the participants a chance to be mentors and practice the entire model with a mentee. These mentees volunteered their time on a Sunday to come down and discuss with the mentors their issues and how the mentors can help support them with it using the model they have studied. The end of the session saw participants share their experiences and certificates were given out. Check out the pictures below and don’t forget to like us on Facebook and Twitter.
