Camper Diary- Mercury
Today in lessons we learnt about Prophet Yunus and his story. I learnt that we should do Sajdah if we are angry and we should do wudhu, relax ad and just let the tears out. We then did an experiment. It was a balloon that we put near a candle, it popped, and the second time we put water in the balloon it took longer to pop! During Quran, group four stayed in the Potting Shed. During Quran, group four stayed in the Potting Shed. Our goal for the end of camp is to memorise and recite Surah Teen with Maghfira Hussain’s tune. We started off by listening to her tune so that we could understand her makhraj. Our Quran teacher, Nazmina Aunty, supported us with the tune and we all worked together to make our voices synchronise. Overall, today’s Quran lesson was amazing and I learnt a lot. In Planet Time we completed our log books. We wrote about all the exciting things we had done! We spent some time writing them and practicing duas but then towards the end we played a really fun game. We had to pick a card from a range of cards containing different emotions to describe how we felt during our time in Camp CoEJ so far. I chose ‘Proud’ because I did things that I thought I could not do (like this team swing). My aim is to do abseiling! (Can’t wait). Overall Planet Time is a time where we can find out about each other! I find it super cool!
One of today’s activities was archery and it was so much fun. For some of us it was the first time, but we all did so well. So many of us hit the target and with archery you never get bored! We so did caving where we did rock climbing (colourful rocks) and some of the rocks were hard to climb because they were very small. I found the rock climbing very fun because got quite far and I was proud of myself. Tonight we had so much fun having a campfire! We went out and while lighting the fire we were reciting nasheeds. Tonight we had so much fun having a campfire! We went out and while lighting the fire we were reciting nasheeds. Then at salaah time we prayed under the beautiful sky and it felt so good. After, we roasted marshmallows and made s’mores. The campfire was spectacular. Everyone loved it especially Tahera Mahdiya bai. I loved how we tried to start the fire with a flint stone. The fire was like a roasting bulb, bursting with explosions, Subhanallah ‘Glory be to Allah’. What an amazing night Alhamdulillah.
