Last year, The World Federation of KSIMC launched an initiative in honour of Bibi Fatima (a.s.) where they celebrated the women of our community who continue to inspire us on a daily basis.
We are very fortunate to have, in our community, many strong, intelligent and successful women who act as role models to us all. You may have seen our article about British women speaking out to defend themselves against comments made by the British Prime Minister. This turned into a viral movement and is just one example of the strength and impact that the female members of our community can have.
The ‘#FatimaInspires’ initiative last year gave members of our community the opportunity to nominate women who have inspired them and why. This was an incredibly popular and successful initiative, with a lot of contributions from all over the world. The initiative also gave members of our community the chance to celebrate and thank those women who they consider their role models.
Based on the success of the last campaign, The World Federation are inviting communities to take part in #FatimaInspires for a second year so that we can once again showcase the work, effort and attainment of the women of our community.
They are requesting nominations from all (bot#h male and female) of women who have inspired you, for whatever reason be it through community work, work outside the community, career skills and achievements or anything else.
In order to submit a nomination, please send either a short video or a picture with a brief statement stating who your nomination is for, and why they inspire you. This can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or it can be shared on social media using the hashtag #FatimaInspires.
The initiative this year will be launched on the wafat of Bibi Fatima (a.s.) on 13 March 2016 and will run until her wiladat on 30 March 2016. The nominations will feature on the following platforms:
