|
The Council of European Jamaats is pleased to be awarded £4'800 from the Faith Communities Capacity Building Fund, one of 343 such awards from some 1,200 hopeful organisations. The application in the category of projects under £5,000 was made by the Youth Desk for its training course in Computer Graphics Design, part of their "Continuous Personal Development" programme. The course is for 8 participants and is held in Hyderi Islamic Centre; professional training coupled with hands on experience under the supervision of professional and skilled designers offers the students an unparalleled opportunity to get to grips with the industry standard in computer graphics and design.
The course is running for five sessions, one weekend a month for five months. Session III will inshallah take place on the weekend of 31 March/1 April 2007. Feedback from the sessions has so far been positive with a full report due to the Council at the end of the course.
The Youth Desk chairman Sadiq Datoo commented: "This award will go a long way to funding this project, and it will inshallah be the first of many such endeavours. We would like to thank the secretariat and brother Ali Panju for their support during the application process".
