Youth The CoEJ Youth Desk aims to create a dynamic and interdependent circuit of thriving youth groups, willing to serve for the common good of the Khoja community at large. The Youth Desk (YD) will endeavour to facilitate in the communication and growth of individual youth bodies, helping to stimulate a structure whereby different youth bodies can learn from each other's skills, practices and experiences. The YD will also aim to provide courses for the youth that will equip them with the necessary tools to enhance their potential in coping with modern day challenges. An example can be seem with the launch of the Leadership Developments course, aimed at developing the capacity of the youth and young professionals within the community. It is felt that a continuation of such programmes will definitely inspire and promote future leaders from within our community.

The Council of European Jamaats is holding an Eid Card competition which is open to all the members of the community.
Think you can do a better job than Picasso? Well then here is your chance. The winning design will be made into Eid Cards that will be sent to community volunteers. Take out your colours and start drawing.
A panel of judges will choose a winning entry. All entries must be received by the secretariat before 15 Ramadhan 1428 A.H. The winner will receive a £100.00.

| Why do Orientalists have a problem with the Authenticity of the Qur'an? Since the beginning of the late middle ages, Orientalists, majority in the form of Christian missionaries attempted to assail the Qur'an. This assault has continued throughout modern times, by various orientalists who were more secular in their approach and used modern research and techniques to prove with varying arguments and assumptions that the Qur'an was infact the work of the Prophet (pbuh). Dr Ahmad Al-Achtar, Lecturer in Islamic studies, Heythrop College, University of London will discuss the arguments and assumptions made by Orientalists against the authenticity of the Qur'an and the Muslim response. |

Rafts of teambuilding fun ADVENTUROUS BOYS: The boys of Husaini Youth. TEENAGERS may get a bad name for hanging round aimlessly on street corners, but one group of adventurous boys joined forces in a remarkable show of focus and team spirit. The youths from the Husaini Islamic Centre in Peterborough, known as the Husaini Youths, embarked on a teambuilding exercise at the Mepal Outdoor Centre near Chatteris. The children, some as young as 10, demonstrated they had responsible heads on their shoulders by working alongside others to build a raft. |
