Youth
The CoEJ Youth Desk aims to create a dynamic and interdependent circuit of thriving youth groups, willing to serve for the common good of the Khoja community at large. The Youth Desk (YD) will endeavour to facilitate in the communication and growth of individual youth bodies, helping to stimulate a structure whereby different youth bodies can learn from each other's skills, practices and experiences. The YD will also aim to provide courses for the youth that will equip them with the necessary tools to enhance their potential in coping with modern day challenges. An example can be seem with the launch of the Leadership Developments course, aimed at developing the capacity of the youth and young professionals within the community. It is felt that a continuation of such programmes will definitely inspire and promote future leaders from within our community.

Jawaher ul Hikmah - Dua Book E-mail
Image
Jawaher ul Hikmah ( Pearls of Wisdom) is a publication aimed at students, especially those attending Universities and living away from home. The Council of European Jamaats is gifting this to our students as it will equip them with the necessary tools to maintain a spiritual connection with Allah (SWT) and the Ahlul Bayt (AS), whilst also providing many useful links and resources to help answer questions surrounding our creed. The contents have been specifically designed by the Youth, ICA and Education Committees of CoEJ in order to give the reader a balance between important supplications and other recommended acts of worship, with an emphasis surrounding the significance of such acts as a constant focal point.

Bismillahi ta’ala,

The Glowing campus of the Jamia by night
As I embarked on my Emirates flight to Imam Khomeini airport (Tehran) from London Heathrow with my family, it suddenly struck me that I’ll be with them only for the next 14 days and then it will be just me, on my own in Qum, Iran. Although I had been there a couple of years ago for a short summer course the feeling this time was distinctly different, as for the first time I was leaving home for more than just a few weeks.

Report of Illusion of Knowledge Event E-mail
Image
On Sunday 28th October 2007, the Abbasi Youth Committee of Birmingham held their first ever nationwide event entitled ‘The Illusion of Knowledge’. The main objective behind this was to raise a much needed awareness on the reality of the situation in the Middle East, particularly the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The event was held in Islamic Centre of England in Maida Vale, London and began at 10.30am with registration. It was encouraging to see so many people entering on time and especially good to see the number of non-Muslims that attended, despite the location.
