The CoEJ Youth Desk aims to create a dynamic and interdependent circuit of thriving youth groups, willing to serve for the common good of the Khoja community at large. The Youth Desk (YD) will endeavour to facilitate in the communication and growth of individual youth bodies, helping to stimulate a structure whereby different youth bodies can learn from each other's skills, practices and experiences. The YD will also aim to provide courses for the youth that will equip them with the necessary tools to enhance their potential in coping with modern day challenges. An example can be seem with the launch of the Leadership Developments course, aimed at developing the capacity of the youth and young professionals within the community. It is felt that a continuation of such programmes will definitely inspire and promote future leaders from within our community.

St John Ambulance - National Cadet of the Year Competition
A Report by Mohamedabbas Jaffer, Portsmouth, Aged 16
A few months ago, I had written a report regarding my involvement as a St John Ambulance Cadet, which started around five years ago at the age of 11. I have taken part in numerous first aid competitions, to reach the position in which I am now. Within the past year, I have been promoted to the position of a corporal within my division and have also been selected as the cadet of the year for the county of Hampshire at the county cadet of the year competition. As part of this role, I had to represent Hampshire at the National Cadet of the Year Competition at Eastwood Hall Conference Centre in Nottingham between the 12th and 14th of January.

In the wake of 21st century the Muslim world has been devastated by tsunami, earthquake, famine, flood and war. When we switch on the TV we see the sufferings of our fellow Muslims in Iraq, Sudan and many other countries. It is very painful to see them suffer and feel the frustration of being so helpless. Whilst there are millions affected around the world, there are a countless number of young Muslims in Britain who are suffering in silence. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said:
