• The Muslim News is renowned for its objectivity & authenticity of its news, & is the most authoritative commentator on British Muslim affairs. It is the most consulted paper in the UK on Muslim domestic & international issues by various media, institutions and researchers - both Muslim and non-Muslim.
• The Muslim News has been one of the pioneers of recognising the Muslim community as a faith group; it has campaigned for a British Muslim identity. The ethnic readership is dynamic & diverse; Asian (Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Indian), Malaysian, Turkish, Arab, African, Afro-Caribbean & other ethnic minorities. Our readership is mainly the second & third generation Muslims.
• The Muslim News organises the prestigious 'The Muslim News Awards for Excellence' event to acknowledge & celebrate excellence, bring out role models for our young generation & highlight the unsung heroes of our community. It also organises the UK Muslim Women's Sports. In 2001, it took 2 teams to the International Islamic Women's Games. The Muslim News is an executive committee member of the International Islamic Women's Games, in charge of non-Muslim countries

| The applicant must be a minimum of 17 years of age and must have a good command of the English language.
| Brief Job specification:
| The intern will be trained in various aspects of print journalism - writing news items, interviewing, researching, newspaper designing, attending press conferences, archiving etc.
