News
The Council of European Jamaats would like to congratulate Sumayya Manji from Peterborough (aged 9) and Muhammad Ali Haji from Leicestershire (aged 15) for their winning entries for the recent drawing / writing competition.

All the entrants had clearly taken time and put a lot of hard work into their submissions; and the judging process was challenging due to the high standard. Viewing and reading the cartoons / short essays was very enjoyable and we would like to thank all the competitors for their efforts.

News

The Behlool Society Summer Camp that took place in the summer of 2007 was incredibly educational as well as extremely enjoyable. I was lucky enough to be one of the few people who participated in the camp which I felt had a good range of topics that varied from Qur’an, Islamic History, Akhlaq, Study of Duas, guidance on living in the West and also many more enlightening and informative subjects that I know I hugely benefited from. I would like to however highlight the topic of guidance on living in the west as I felt that this was tremendously relevant to the modern day and to my life as I picked up many useful and constructive points that are still helping me today.

The Glowing campus of the Jamia by night
As I embarked on my Emirates flight to Imam Khomeini airport (Tehran) from London Heathrow with my family, it suddenly struck me that I’ll be with them only for the next 14 days and then it will be just me, on my own in Qum, Iran. Although I had been there a couple of years ago for a short summer course the feeling this time was distinctly different, as for the first time I was leaving home for more than just a few weeks.
