Mahmood Dhala, the immediate past chairman of the Education Committee of The Council of European Jamaats has been appointed Assistant Secretary General (ASG) for Education at The World Federation.  This new role was created as a result of the changes taking place at The World Federation Secretariat in line with the resolution passed at their Triennial Conference in Dubai in 2006.  

In accepting the role, Br. Mahmood said, "I very much look forward to working in this new role.  It will be exciting and challenging and I hope that we deliver the very challenging agenda we have set ourselves, Insha'allah."
Dr. Hassam, President of The World Federation, commenting on this appointment said, "In Mahmood we have a hard and dedicated volunteer who has shown great leadership throughout his work both at The Council of European Jamaats and The World Federation.  He will be a great asset in this role, InshAllah."
