The camp is organised as an analogy to the solar system. The Administration form the Sun, around whom the camp revolves. The Sun is responsible for the well-being of all participants, from the cooks to the campers. As one camper famously described them: ‘the Sun shines on us all.’ |

The Administrators view personal development of each and every participant as being of paramount importance. It works through shared experiences and mutual co-operation between all involved: Admin, Lectures, Campers and Mentors. However, the focus is mainly on the campers – the primary beneficiaries of the camp. All camp activities, from sports, lessons to lunch time are geared specifically to continually enhance their personal development. Indeed, campers are seen as individuals, and thus Mentors, Administrators and Lecturers spend time individually with campers, in order to bring the best out of all of them. |

Outings form an integral and significant part of the camp. The locations are carefully chosen to broaden the campers’ experiences. The outings are meticulously planned, booked well in advance of the camp through the ‘Swedish Connection.’ |

The concept of ‘mentoring’, is tried and tested: it serves a dual purpose. Firstly, the mentors are pivotal to the personal development of the campers; and the campers by stretching the mentors provide personal development for the mentor – extending their ability and capacity to deal with the running of the camp: a facet which can be of immense benefit outside of the camp itself. |

Lessons at the camp consist of classroom-based formal lessons delivered either by a member of Admin, a mentor or a specific teacher; but will also include that delivered in informal settings: from meal times to outdoor activities. |
