Originally from Mombasa, Mahmood son of Ahmed and Sakina Dhala hails from a family whose roots come from Zanzibar and Mombasa. Mahmood is presently living in London for the last fifteen years and is married.
He graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Electronic & Electrical Engineering at South Bank University in 1996, and his first graduate job was with the IT department with major national airline. He then moved into the world of Telecommunications and Datacomms and is currently working for a private IT consultant for the past nine years. He has moved within various teams having worked in several IT areas, and he currently heads up a team of Network Provisioning analysts.

 Shan-e-Abbas Hassam Shan-E-Abbas was born in 1985, in Birmingham, UK. He is the first of two sons to Sadik and Shamim Hassam.
Shan-E-Abbas studied at Hallfields School for his primary education, at Solihull School for his secondary education and then at King Edward’s School for his A-Levels. He gained straight As in Chemistry, Economics, History, Geography and General Studies. He has recently graduated from King’s College, London, where he studied Law, and has completed his Legal Practice Course. He is currently working with a corporate law firm in London. |

Hasnain Ramji was born in 1986 in Birmingham, UK. His father, Mustafa, originally from Tanzania, migrated to the UK in 1977 and his mother, Fatima, from Uganda first migrated to Karachi, Pakistan before marrying and moving to the UK to settle in Birmingham. Hasnain is the second of their two sons.
Hasnain attended The King Edward’s VI School in Birmingham where he achieved top grade results in all ten GCSEs, AS Level and all four A Levels subjects. He also obtained several awards during his time at secondary school including: three Gold UK Mathematics awards. He then went on to study Optometry at Aston University where he graduated this year, and is due to commence his pre-registration training after this year’s camp.

Dr Akil Nurmohamed was born in London in 1968. He is the youngest of a family of three. His father, Amirali Nurmohamed, and mother are both from Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. Akil is married and has two children. He is settled in London, where he is a full time partner in a General Practice in Harrow.
His primary and secondary education was in South London. He went on to study Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital and in 1994 graduated with a MBBS Lon and a BSc (Hons) in Immunology. He further specialised with a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1997 and completed his General Practice Vocational Training from Edgware Hospital in 1998. He became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2001.

 Ali Akber Hussein Ali Akber Hussein, more famously known as “aah”, is the ninth of the tenth in the family. He was born in Zanzibar in 1947. He is the youngest of the five sons of Hussein Dharamsi Gangji and Marhuma Zainab Mohamedali Jaffer. He got married in 1974 and has a family of three daughters. Having first settled in Essex for a number of years, the family is now settled in Canon’s Park, in London. His primary and secondary school education was completed at the St. Joseph’s Convent School in Zanzibar, Tanzania. In 1964, he went to London, UK for further studies, and completed his GCE and undertook “A” Levels in London. He graduated with a Remedial Gymnastic degree from the College of Remedial Gymnastics and Recreational Therapy, Wakefield, Yorkshire. |
