On Thursday 9th of August 2007 we first awoke for fajr namaaz at 3:30am. After a short rest we again got up for a tasty breakfast at 9:00am. After breakfast the weary we struggled through four gruelling lessons and learnt a lot of new things. After zohr and asr namaaz, we had some delicious daal. We gathered at 2.30pm at the basketball courts to depart for our trip to Stockholm. We walked up a hill towards the public bus stop with the directions from the Swedish connection. We crammed 70 khojas into a public bus wearing our blue ‘CoEJ’ hats, the locals were overjoyed. We then got off the bus and took a train to the City Centre. The safety of the campers was at the top of the minds of mentors and it was crucial that every camper was counted for. Therefore, throughout Stockholm, the echoes of khojas shouting their number in the head count was noticed by the residents.
Shopping was enjoyed by the campers, as well as visiting the Sweden’s original McDonalds. After meeting up at checkpoint 2, all the planets walked to check point 3 and from there we caught a coach back to the camp. All the campers were exhausted as we returned to the camp and had fish and chips for dinner. Dinner was lovely as usual and we joined Mukhi in the namaaz room for Dua Kumayl and then namaaz. It was the wafaat of Hz Abutalib and we had a majlis and maatam.
We were shattered so we got an early night to bed. Looking forward to another exciting day tomorrow.

As usual we woke for Fajr but today we were early instead of the normal late drogy arrival to the namaz room, infact we were 20 mins early, during which we were reiterated the importance of preparing for our meeting with the Almghty. After an inspirational namaz we went straight back sleep.
For breakfast we had delicious fried egg and toast, also we had to have the yoghurt due to the saying that we came up with that said: ‘a yoghurt a day will keep the jinns away’, which was needed after the jinn sightings the previous night.
Today we only had 2 lessons due to the lie in of one and a half hours. The first lesson we had by Dr. Mahmood Datoo and we talked about time management and how it can help us to arrange our very tightly scheduled life styles. We also talked about how Islam can be fitted into our lifestyles with the help of a timetable. The second lesson was a mentor lesson taken by Shan-E-Abbas Hassam who is a camp administrator. We talked politics in Islam and how Muslims being involved in politics can help to prepare for the reappearance of our 12th Imam (ATF). The lessons today were excellent and very interesting; overall lessons have been beneficial.
We prayed Zohr namaz as usual after which we had launch in which we had chicken curry with rice and salad. The food in lunch was really good especially for curry. We then had our first Quran Khani session where we were split into our separate classes on 5 different levels according to ability.
We started our sports sessions with cricket with Abisali bha Ebrahim and Mohammed Iqbal bha Kassam. It was a tournament which lasted one hour and twenty minutes. It was between Jupiter and Saturn the 2 senior campers. Jupiter won the toss and decided to field first. Our bowlers were fantastic taking several wickets with 2 in one over including one brilliant catch. Our batsmen performed brilliantly however the final result was very close, but our opposition, Saturn, won by 4 runs. The next session was table tennis with Mohammed Abbas bha Remtulla in which we prepared for the upcoming tournament after playing a few game of ‘around the world’. The final session was beach volleyball with Ali Asgar bha Rajani. We started off with a few stretches and put on our goggles. We then went straightway into a game of 3 a side. We practiced for our tournament and chose our team. It was fun and we had a good experience which will help us in our tournament. Sports overall was very fun and we all enjoyed it very much.
Dinner then followed which was probably the best food have had so far. We had the only ‘badger’ burgers in the whole world (camper only joke). Following dinner we had PDT starting at 9:00pm starting with lateral thinking which was very hard, but we did well by getting 6 out 10. We also had a word quiz called ‘boggle’ in which we got all 10 out of 10 answers correct. Next we had to identify the leaders of many countries in another quiz. The PDT session also included a fire drill and a final quiz of finding the meaning of Arabic words, this was very difficult. We also noticed that the scores had been updated on the board showing that our planet, Jupiter, was in the lead! The PDT session was followed by dessert which was the birthday cakes of the four mentors and campers whose birthdays were during the camp. The cake was chocolate with strawberries and cream.
We finally prayed Maghrib namaz followed by a short talk about Meraj and then two kasidas which were recited beautifully, one of which was done by our mentors.
After a long day, we ‘jupitarians’ are blessed with our glorious mentors who led us to our bedrooms for some much needed sleep. Once in our beds we all recited a surah together and fell asleep having not been disturbed by any jinns.

Camper Diary (Mars) - Tuesday 7th August 2007
Campers: Farhaan Sheriff, Shabab Zailai, Ali-Abbas Datoo, Zayn-Ali Walji, Hassan Meghjee, Hassan Kanani, Shuaib Meghji, Muntazir Raza
Mentors: Ali Asgher Rajani, Kazim Dhanji
Our journey began by getting to Stanmore where we were hoping to arrive at 6:45am. Many of us, unfortunately, arrived late due to the early morning traffic. Upon our arrival, we were given workbooks to use for our Islamic studies and made our way to the airport. On arriving at Heathrow Terminal 1 we unloaded the luggage, headed for the check in and boarded the plane. The plane was delayed for 45mins and we were not allowed to choose where we were allowed to sit. We finally landed at Stockholm International Airport. Surprisingly, the blistering heat and smell of rotten fish didn’t help in the delay of the luggage handed back to us. We finally found our luggage and made our way to the camp in the comfy coach, where we were allowed to sit where we liked and this was good.
When we arrived at the camp, we met our current friends and made new friends. The camp looked beautiful in the mid evening sunshine and we all loved it. We offloaded ourselves and our luggage of the camp and were taken to our rooms. We quickly settled and headed for the Namaaz room to recite our Zohr and Asr Namaaz. Our mentors, Ali Asger Bha an Kazim Bha, helped us settle into dinner where we had the lovely chicken curry with rice and bread. We headed back for the Namaaz Room to recite Maghrib and Isha Namaaz. After lasting the humidity of the Namaaz Room, we headed to the PDT room and had a really challenging session where we did some quizzes. We also had an introduction to Health and Safety by Ali Asger Bha and an introduction to Fire Drills by Hussein Ali Bha.
After PDT, we were assisted to our rooms where we got ready for bed. It was around midnight when we realised that we needed as much rest as we could get to go through an exciting and interesting first day at the Sweden Camp. We finally fell asleep…what a day!

VENUS - Planet Diary Tuesday 7th August 2007 Campers: Abbas Fazal, Azim Gulamali, Salman Hassanali, Hasnain Jetha, Zuhayr Kassamali, Hossain Muthaliff, Khalil Rajbhai and Haider Rubbani Mentors: Ghalib Sheikh & Muhammad-Abbas Rajani
We were all woken up early by Ghalibbha, showered and made our way to breakfast. Breakfast like all the other meals was very tasty. We were served Swedish cheese and omelettes. After breakfast we went to our different classes, our topics for the today were: 1. Who am I? by Fazleabbas uncle 2. Dua-e-Tawassul by Mahmood uncle 3. Salaams, Islamic greeting by the one and only Ali Akber Hussain uncle 4. Internet: good or bad? By Kazimbha D The lesson on Salaams was very eye opening and interesting, we found this lesson the most enjoyable. In between lessons, we had breaks in which we had delicious jam and custard, pastries and some fruit juice. When classes had finished, we prepared ourselves for namaaz. After namaz, we eagerly awaited lunch that consisted of pilau and salad. After having had a filling meal, we gathered in the PDT building to prepare for salaah and quran assessments. Many of us were very nervous, but with the mentors help, we managed to feel confident that we could improve on any mistakes we may have made and this helped us to be able to perform namaaz and quraan correctly. After assessments, we prepared for a range of sports. Our first sport was the low ropes activity and many of us were looking forward to a challenge. The low ropes activity, taught us how to work in a team and how to get through the task together. Many of us had found that the low ropes activity is very fun, thanks to the Swedish instructor, Cristian, who showed us how it should be done. We were told that we had to imagine that we were on a ship and that the captain had become unwell. For this, we had to get the bucket of medicine to the captain without trying to spill any. After many attempts, we got the idea of how it can be done and by working in a team we got very far in the task. At the end of the task, many of us needed a break and also we needed time to prepare for our football tournament against mercury. The football tournament began with a range of warm-ups in order to get us ready for the game. As the game went on, we realised that we could win if we carried on working together. Before we knew it, we had thrashed mecury 7-0! Salman Hassanali scored 4 goals, Haider Rubbani scored 2 goals and Hussain Muthalliff scored 1 goal. All of us played really well and tried our best. The keeper Azim also kept a clean sheet! After sports we had refreshments which was bananas and juice, we then went to dinner after taking a shower and had pasta. The food was good and we all had two to three rounds of it as we liked it so much. After dinner we had the daily PDT session which was really fun. We had lateral thinking quizzes that were a little difficult as we had to think fast in little time. We also had boggle and a mentor intro that was very interesting to listen to. After the mentor intro, we had a news report and postbag were many of us had messages read out from home. After PDT, we had our planet time in which we all talked about what we done and were given a brief on what we should be expected to do. The planet time ended at about just one of the long and fun days we had before retiring to bed.
