There are sports, and then there’s watersports. The feeling of water on a hot summer’s day is an exhilarating experience, especially when enjoyed with peers in faith in an atmosphere of tranquillity, serenity and joviality.
Being on the shores of the lake, you cannot miss it. You hear the boats as they plough through the waters, you enjoy your meals looking over the shiny rippling waters, you feed the ducks as they bob up and down in the water. So with water all round its only natural that water sports is a big feature of the Camp.
All the water activities are supervised by the camp authorities and the mentors to ensure safety is of the paramount importance. All Mentors and Campers alike have to wear life jackets.
The water sports are included in the timetable, which is drawn up months in advance. Any Camper who has a fear of water, soon loses it as the fun and enjoyment takes over. Courage and skill is required for tube skiing. In canoeing in pairs, teamwork and co-ordinated paddling is essential to stay afloat. Swimming or messing about in the water is enjoyed by most and some Mentors and Campers are powerful swimmers and so, safe fun is had by all. The water is clear, always inviting, and another place for fun.
