Salaam Alaykum,
The application form has been live for a number of weeks now and slowly we are receiving applications. As I receive each form a sense of excitement fills me, a sense that once again I will be travelling, experiencing, enjoying, learning and playing with a whole new set of individuals, each unique in their personality. I can’t wait!!
On the planning side the good news is that this year's alim will be Sheikh Abbas Mirza, former resident alim of Birmingham Jamaat. Sheikh Mirza is originally from America and studied for 10 years in the holy city of Qum. I know him personally from Birmingham and I am sure with his approachability and wealth of experience he will be a great asset to the camp. I look forward to playing cricket with him!
Alhamdulilah we have also confirmed the chefs for the camp. The role of the chefs is an extremely hard task and a pivotal role in the camp. A big thank you to these chefs.
Applications are coming in extremely fast and in fact there are only 10 places remaining. We have decided to extend the deadline to allow as much time to apply as possible. The new deadline is now 20th April 2007. Apply soon to ensure a place!!!
