Shabir was born in Hillingdon, UK, in 1985. He is the middle child of a family of three and has an older brother and a younger sister. His father Mustafa was born in Zanizbar and his mother was born in Moshi, Tanzania. They migrated to the UK in the early 1970's.
Shabir completed his GCSEs at Haydon school in Eastcote and successfully graduated from SI Madressa, Satnmore. He continued his education at City of Westminster College studying A-Levels in Economics, ICT and Mathematics. He went on to study a degree in Computing and Management (BSc) at Loughborough University where he just completed his second year of study. Throughout his education, he has taken on various roles such as Hall Media representative and Students Union Elections Committee. He represented his Halls in many sports including squash and cricket. He has represented Stanmore Jafferys in the last 4 years at CoEJ tournamenets. He was in the winning side of the 18 and under football, and was captain of the winning side in 2003. He was also a Runner up in the Badminton Doubles in 2002 and has played volleyball for Stanmore. He has participated in the first residential summer camp at Kingswood, and has also participated in the Residential University Study Skills Camp. Shabir has been a keen sportsman and likes to try various sports. He particularly excels at football and has been keen player from a young age. He played for his primary school, and then joined a local football team, Ruislip Town and played in the 1st team for 4 years. Along side the sports he likes to keep abreast of the technology world, and has recently rekindled his attraction to reading. |
