Profile - Mahmood Dhala E-mail

Originally from Mombasa, Mahmood son of Ahmed and Sakina Dhala hails from a family whose roots come from Zanzibar and Mombasa. Mahmood is presently living in London for the last 15 years and married to Fatema, a Financial Analyst by profession.

Graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Electronic & Electrical Engineering at South Bank University in 1996. Mahmood first graduate job was with the IT department at British Airways based at Heathrow. He then moved into the world of Telecommunications and Datacomms and is currently working for Verizon for the past 8 years. He has moved within various teams having worked in several IT areas, he currently heads up a team of Network Provisioning analysts responsible for providing Activation, deletion, suspension and subsequent status reporting of Calling Line Identifiers and delivery of Call Data records to the Wholesale customers in the company. 

He has served the Mombasa jamaat in many ways including being a member of the Ithnasheri Young Men’s Union and setting up the very first Audio Visual Library as well as a serving as a member of the Volunteers Corp. In the UK, Mahmood has also served as the Youth representative of the London Jamaat EC as well as been a madressa teacher between 1992 and 1995. Mahmood is currently managing the World Federation - Careers, Education and Training Advisory Board. He aspires to assist Students of our community world-wide through the Student Support Network (SSN) which he founded in 2002 as well as various other CETAB projects. He works closely with CETAB and CoEJ Education to attain a close rapport with Education Boards of other regional Federations. 

Mahmood served as the Chairman of the Education Committee of CoEJ between 2003-2005 where he restarted the Iran Summer Camp and introduced the UCAS Seminar during his time as Chair. He is presently a Board member of the present team as well as a one of the UK Administrators for the Sweden Camp over the last 3 years.
