Yesterday marked the end of the first day of the 2006 mentor training weekend. As Shane-E-Abbas explained the weekend is being based around a day in the camp. Therefore when the mentors arrived at IEB they were very warmly greeted by their “weekend mentors” and given their very own Sweden 2006 goody bag just as they would be doing to the campers soon on the first day of the camp in Sweden!
The official start of the programme then followed, beginning with a small brief from the vice chairman of CoEJ Education, Shabbar Dhalla. He expressed thanks to the mentors for giving up their time to support each and every camper, to enhance their potential and allow them to grow into better human beings. This was appreciated by the mentors and they seemed prepared for the days to come.
After a few hours of ice-breakers, intros, expectations and photos of the camp site we ended for the day, hoping for a good sleep ready for a new start tomorrow!
