Day 4 - Mentors Diary - Fatima Bharwani E-mail
The sky was clear blue, alhamdulilah we awoke to a beautiful day with the birds tweeting and the sun streaming through the window, perfect for a  lesson on jihad, the internal, jihad of the nafs being far more important than the physical jihad! After all the discussion of internal struggles, the girls were ready for an appatising internal fulfilment of lunch!! We were served with a palatable lunch of vegetable pilau and daal that went down well with the yogurt and sugar lassi concusion that the girls had created.

The girls excitedly into the coach on our way to stockholme to the famous theme park, we were armed with our maps, tickets and wrist band prepared for the exhilating afternoon that lay ahead! After closely exaoming the map, the Venus decided to brave the 60 foot vertical drop! We nervously watched the ride in action, then the time came.. We sat down, and were slowly elevated higher and higher, the people were getting smaller and smaller, then we reached the top of the 60 foot drop, there was only one thing we could do.. PRAY!! And suddenly we were dropped...

After that enourmous adrenaline rush the girls were ready for anything, we went on our first rollercoaster that had huge loops with twists and turns and high speeds! We rewarded ourselves with lunch, and a very large stick of candy floss that lasted the rest of the afternoon!

The light hearted and the adrenaline seekers were all enticed by the tranquil nature of the swings as we were gently raised into the air and oscilated over the river, alhamdulilah it was beautiful and relaxing, as one of of the girls went on it SEVEN times!

We all huddled together and decided with our nerves of steel we would go to the spook house, this was no ordinary ‘spook house’, as the ghosts pounded down the dark corridors towards us and jumping out from hidden corners. We survived the ‘spook house’ with little left in our voice boxes!

The journey back to our island was very quiet as the girls rested, and recited jamaat namaz for magrib as it was the last jummah in shaban, the atmosphere was exhilarating as the Mercury girls did a very entertaining lifelike re-enactment of the spookhouse.
