Day 3 - Mentors Diary - Fatema Mawji E-mail
I awoke to another beautiful day on our serene island to begin yet another fun-filled day with our campers. Like the previous day we had  met at 3.00am to pray our Fajr salaat together. We awoke again to have a delicious breakfast, after which our girls began their morning classes. The girls were buzzing with excitement following lessons on Hadiths of the Prophets, Jihad of the soul and Quranic Art. It was truly inspiring to see the variety of artisitic talent within our girls as they all painted their very own pieces reflecting their ideology of Jannah. The lessons built up the girls’ appetite which was fed with a lunch of spaghetti & meatballs and lots lots more. We prayed our Zohr and Asr Salaah followed by some Fiqh tips from our Muallima Mehnaaz Aunty. Much to the girls delight we then completed from yesterday our Namaaz and Quran assessment.

The Swedish weather attempted to strip the British weather of its “most unpredictable” title as it decided to rain as we were making our way to the activity site. However even rain would stop our girls and Alhamdulillah as we reached the activities it began to subside. The campers, mentors and teachers all together ran assault courses, stacked and climbed crates and bravely blindfolded themselves for the collaboration course. It was amazing to see how so many of them overcame fears of heights to conquest the crates and cheered their fellow campers on.

We returned from the exciting afternoon of activities to pilau, pasta and kebab no saak. After dinner the entire girls camp gathered for quizzes to battle out for the title of best planet. Using teamwork, lateral thinking and following lots of fun and laughter Marcury and Venus drew. The girls read messages from friends & family and Planet Venus entertained the rest of us with their very own news and weather reports. We gathered once again to end our day with Salaat and Juma’raat majalis with beautiful Dua recitations from our girls. We gathered in our planet houses to end the night with fun, chatter & activities. Mercury played twister exhausting themselves into bed for a good night’s rest, ready to Insh’Allah begin another day on our Swedish island.
