Sajjad Hassam
Sajjad was born in Birmingham, UK, in 1988, as the younger of two brothers. His parents, Sadik and Shamim Hassam, were born in Tanzania, and moved to the UK in 1983. His elder brother, Shan-e-Abbas, has been a past Mentor and current Admin of the Sweden Camps. The family is settled in Birmingham.

Sajjad studied at Hallfield School for his primary education, and is currently at King Edward’s School where he achieved ten A*s at GCSE. He is currently completing his A2 studies this summer, having obtained straight As at AS-Level in Economics, Biology, General Studies and Mathematics.

  He is head of the RAF Section of King Edward’s School Combined Cadet Force and has lead a team of six, organising and running weekly activities for cadets and Expeditions Weekends. He has served as a Prefect, as well as an editor for the 2006 edition of the school magazine, “The Chronicle”.

He is a volunteer at the Muhammadi Madrasah in Birmingham for the last three years, and has helped out in several World Federation projects; such as the Iraq Relief campaign and the Pakistan Earthquake Appeal. He also is currently helping design and produce brochures for the Mehfile Abbas (a.s.) Project in Birmingham.

He is a former Sweden camper (2005) and is returning as mentor.

He likes reading a variety of newspapers and economic journals, and attending various educational one-day conferences. On the sporting front, he regularly enjoys playing badminton and squash, and occasionally plays tennis, football and cricket.
