Invitation to Tender The Council of European Jamats is inviting tenders for the updating of content on its website. The deadline for response is 23 July 2008 at 12pm Our Work The Council of European Jamats (CoEJ) is a regional federation member of The World Federation of KSIMC. We are a registered charity aiming to relieve poverty, advance education, promote welfare for the elderly and promote the Shia Ithna-Ashari faith.
Whilst we are a small organisation with only 16 member Jamats / organisations, we have a comprehensive portfolio of projects covering a wide variety of areas including general charitable purposes, medical/health, education / training, disability, relief of poverty, religious activities, sports and recreation, economic / community development / employment. Most of our work is done on a voluntary basis.
Our Website The Council of European Jamats’ website (www.coej.org) is based on a Content Management System (CMS) that allows easy editing and updating of the website through a rich text editor built into the site administration system.
The Nature of the Work Being Tendered CoEJ is inviting tenders for the updating of content on its website. In order to add pages onto the website, the user is required to add the text provided and create a page on the website using the rich text editor and apply basic formatting based on CoEJ guidelines. Images that are received add to the attractiveness of our site and provide extra information for our audience. Therefore, there will also be a need to edit images and upload them using the administration system. The time taken to add a page depends on the complexity of the formatting required. Basic pages usually take a few minutes and more complex pages can take up to 15 minutes. The majority of pages that added to the CoEJ website are simple in nature. Specific Requirements We require approximately up to 450 pages to be updated annually. Reliability and speed are very important to the organisation and therefore we require pages to be added to the site within 24 hours of receiving content via email.
Contract Length The successful bidder will be awarded a one-month trial that will be extended to a 12 month contract if we feel that the service is of an acceptable quality. The contract will be renewed on an annual basis.
Skills Required The current Content Management System is very easy to use and does not require any specific qualifications. However a certain level of proficiency in the following areas will be required:
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Using email and the Internet
- Basic image editing skills are required to adjust the size and proportions of
- images to be added within pages.
- Office administration (not essential but appreciated)
- European Computer Driving Licence (not essential but appreciated)
Please note that although all the above skills may not be used in the provision of the service that is being tendered out, proficiency in the areas above demonstrates the ability to provide the service that we require. Training Training will be provided on how to use the administration interface of the Content Management System.
