Fatima Manji appointed Chairperson of External Relations and Media Desk |

The Council of European Jamaats is pleased to announce the appointment of Sister Fatima Manji as Chairperson of the External Relation and Media Desk. Fatima graduated in 2007 with a degree in Government and History from the London School of Economics. During her time at university she was an active student journalist, serving as a Senior Editor of the LSE Student union newspaper and hosting a political show on the student union radio. She was also actively involved with student politics, serving on various committees including the LSE's Academic Board as a student representative.
Most recently, she worked for a Member of the European Parliament, concentrating on research and communication in the UK constituency office. She also worked on projects and events for a London based media think tank. She is now moving onto train as a journalist for an international news organisation. Fatima has been actively involved in community work within her hometown of Peterborough. She is currently the joint-Head of Husaini Youth, a madressa teacher and youth representative on the Education committee. She has also worked on various inter-faith and external outreach projects, as well as organised media publicity for events.
The Secretary General Shabbar Dhalla said, " I am pleased that Sister Fatima has agreed to come on board and work for CoEJ centrally and I look forward to working with her to strengthens and develops this very important committee". |
