Coej Member Jamaats Obtain FCCBF |

This was a new fund and was for faith and inter faith groups and organisations in England and Wales, particularly those in the most disadvantaged areas and with the most diverse minority populations.
COEJ and the majority of its member Janaats applied for the FCCBF. The fund will support capacity building and inter faith activity to increase community cohesion in wider society. The Faith Communities Capacity Building Fund opened on 23rd September 2005. The Fund was announced in the Home Offices ‘Improving Opportunity and Strengthening Society’ strategy in January 2005. The total funding for grants that was distributed between January 2006 and March 2006 was up to £5 million. The fund is sponsored by the Cohesion and Faith Unit of the Home Office. Hyderi and Essex Jamaats were successful in obtaining grants of £5000 each.
