On Saturday 10th December 2011 the moon will be in a state of partial eclipse in Europe. The whole eclipse ends at 17:31GMT

It will not be well placed for people in the UK or Western Europe to see well, as the totality of the Eclipse occurs at 14:06:16GMT and so the Moon will be below our horizon at this time.

At the recently concluded Annual Conference of The Council of European Jamaats, Br Abdul Hirji was elected as Electoral Commissioner.

Since Br Abdul retired from the Royal Navy as a Senior Aircraft Engineer in 1993, he had committed himself to serve the Community in Peterborough. He served as a President, Vice president and as a Committee member. Currently he is the Health & Safety Advisor at a Jamaat level.

IMG_3749At the recently concluded Annual Conference of The Council Of European Jamaats, Sis Esmat Jeraj was elected as the Assistant Secretary General.

Esmat Jeraj recently graduated with a BA Hons in History from the University of Reading. She is currently the female youth head at Hyderi (South London) Jamaat and a member of the shadow executive committee.

Matrimonial_1The CoEJ Matrimonial Committee had an opportunity to swap notes on processes/training and explore areas of cooperation in the areas of Marriage, with Gujarati towns of Sirkhej (Ahmedabad) and Bhavnagar.

There is a lot of work done in these towns in the areas of marriage, in particular the combination of formal and informal structures that handle reconciliation.
