Wessex Jamaat organised a Pakistan Flood Relief Box Appeal where they managed to send over 100 boxes to the destitute victims of the recent floods that have devastated certain regions of Pakistan.
As you may be aware, BBC South Today had filmed and interviewed members of our Jamaat on Wednesday 1st September 2010 in relation to the Pakistan Flood Relief Box Appeal. The news item was shown on BBC 1's South Today, on Thursday 2nd September in all four news slots.
click here to view the video, the clip starts at 11 Minutes and 30 Seconds
It features the youth of Wessex Jamaat assisting with the packing of boxes, a short interview with Sheikh Fazle Abbas, Uncle Taki and myself.
Due to featuring on BBC South Today, many newspapers picked up on our story and have decided to feature this. This is including Southampton’s ’Daily Echo' and 'The News' in Portsmouth. Inshallah, these should be printed on Saturday 4th September.
I would like to thank you all for your support in this project. The response from the Jamaat was outstanding and we managed to send over 100 boxes, which is over double our target.
With salaams and duas
