Watford Jamaat with the blessing of Allah Subhanallah Wa Tallah, the Al-Zahra Madressa was launched on the 5th of November 2006. The launch of the School signifies a new beginning and as the Principal, I am excited by the many accomplishments and challenges that lie ahead for the Madressa. We look forward to expanding our services and becoming embedded in the community; we intend to be the hub of the community as any place of knowledge should be.
We will continue with the induction of classes at regular times of the first year; this will allow us to be well organized and prepared. The next planned induction is for 6-7 year olds and will be after Moharram. I recognise that ‘people are the most important resource’ in any organisation and I am committed to overseeing training and development of all staff, including myself. We are in the process of putting into place several important policies. The most important of which is the Child Protection Policy and a ‘Child Welfare Officer’ has been appointed and all our staff are in the process of being CRB Checked. I am happy with the progress we have made and hope to have our own curriculum produced by our own teachers that will suit our children and our community. It will take time to get the Madressa back to how it was when it was up and running before, but it is hoped that by 2008 we will have a Madressa delivering all aspects of education to every age group.
