8th July 05 The Council of European Jamaats hereby joins the masses in expressing its abhorrence for the cowardly acts of bombing indiscriminately on the people of London. We share their grief and sorrow. Our hearts go out to the victims, their friends and families -who were innocent victims. The evil and misguided people who planned this carnage had only one thing in mind- to demoralise and cause divisions among the British people. An attack like this is an attack on all the people and we have to stand united. We will ask our Centres to open their doors and show what Islam really preaches- peace and to live in harmony with its neighbours. In addition we will write letters to the local media and invite them in our Centres during our functions and offer full cooperation with the local authorities. We sincerely hope and pray that these criminals are apprehended and brought to justice. Yesterday we were all celebrating after securing Olympic Games for 2012 but today we are in the shadow of terrorism. We should be strong and steadfast both in our celebration and in our times of crisis – God willing we will come over this tragedy. |
