Job Opportunities at the MCB Print E-mail

 

We are looking for Media & Public Affairs Officer and Administration Officer 

 

The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) is a Muslim umbrella body of over 500 mosques, associations and charities. It is an independent and democratic organisation, with a stated ethos of being inclusive and non-sectarian, representing Britain's diverse Muslim communities for the common good.

 

It is a non-governmental voluntary organisation. It is managed by volunteers who are elected by its affiliates for a two year term in accordance with its Constitution. Its work is funded entirely through public donations, affiliation fees and project grants.

The MCB is now recruiting for the following posts:

 

Public Affairs and Media Officer

Salary: £35,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

London-based, initial two-year term.

 

The MCB is looking for an outstanding professional with demonstrable experience in policy and/or media or a related field. The applicant should be a British graduate or equivalent with proven written skills.

 

The applicant should have a thorough understanding of Britain's diverse Muslim community as well as considerable experience of working in or interacting with the political and democratic institutions in the United Kingdom. Working closely with the organisation's elected leadership, the post holder will facilitate MCB's work in putting forward policy concerns faced by the community to all levels of government and the policy-making organs as well as to the media and commentators.

 

This is a demanding post, candidates will need to be confident self-starters, demonstrate tact and diplomacy, and work under pressure in a fast-paced, but creative environment.

Administrative Officer

Salary: £16-17,000. London-based

 

You will be responsible for all aspect of general office administration, email and other correspondence, providing an efficient and friendly service to visitors and callers, record keeping and other tasks where allocated. You will have some previous experience of working in an office, together with the essential knowledge of MS Office applications.
