TABLE TENNIS RULES AND REGULATIONS

General

1.    Depending on the entries there will be two groups playing 21 points of round robin each.

2.    The highest 2 scorers from each group will play for semi finals.

3.    Depending on the entries there might not be a quarter final.

4.    Standard table tennis rules will apply for all games. Service will change after every two points. 

5.    In the event of a tie-break 2 clear points difference will be required.

6.    There will be short warm up sessions allowed for each match. (between 2-4 minutes depending on the entries and the time available)

7.     All players should be equipped with their own bats.

8.    Bats used for the matches can either be pimpled or plain rubber; however bats without rubber cannot be used for this tournament.

9.    If a player from any group fails to turn up. The points will be awarded to the opponent present on the court with a full score at discretion of the organisers.

10.    The balls used for the tournament will be 40mm diameter supplied by the organisers. The organisers will try and supply colour balls, if however colour balls are not available than white balls will be used.

11.    In the event of using white balls players will have to wear dark colour shirts.

12.    Players must remain in the table-tennis arena throughout the day and will be released for lunch and prayers or at discretion of the organisers. Any player leaving the arena and not present during his match will forfeit his match at the organiser’s discretion which will be final.

13.    Adult umpires will be selected by the organisers. The decision of all umpires will be final.

14.    All semi-finals will be best of 3’s 11 points or 21 points depending on the entries and time available. Players will have to change sides after each game. In the event of playing third leg, players will have to change sides after points or 10 depending on whether the game is 11 points or 21 points.

15.    Finals will be best of 3’s or best of 5’s with either 11 or 21 points depending on the entries and time available.
