FOOTBALL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1 Once signed a player cannot be transferred to another team.
2 Team lists must be supplied to the organisers at the specified time.
3 Referees must report back to Organiser with the result and goal scorers immediately after the game. Three points will be awarded for a win and one point for a draw.
4 The schedule of matches will not be changed (unless decided by Organisers). A team will be awarded a 3-0 victory should their opponents fail to turn up for the match.
5 If a team does not have 7 players ready to play they shall play with 6 which is the minimum required if there are less than four the oppositions will be awarded a two nil win.
6 Failure by both teams to arrive by the specified time will result in a nil draw however no points will be carried forward towards their total.
7 The referee will determine the punishment for players sent off in competition. The minimum punishment is a one match ban which has immediate effect following the sending off. The maximum punishment will be a total ban for the remainder of the tournament. There will be no appeals procedure. The 2 minute Sin Bin will also be decided by the referee.
8 Yellow Card offence is a two minute sin bin. Some examples are deliberate time wasting, arguing a decision, kicking the ball away etc…. The offending player’s team shall continue the game with 6 players. Red Card offence is a straight sending off. If a team has 2 players sent off in the same game the match will be declared as 5-0 loss for the offending team.
Please note, team captains are responsible for ensuring that all players representing their team are made fully aware of regulations before playing.
Rules of Play
1 To start the game the referee will drop the ball between two players. The game will re-start from the goalkeeper after a goal is scored.
2 There will be no half time or change of ends. All games will start and finish on the whistle/hooter. All games will be of ten minutes. The Semi Final will be 12 minutes and final will be 15 minutes.
3 If the ball goes under the central net or goes over the side line the game will re-start with a in direct free kick on the line/near the net.
4 Only the goalkeeper is allowed in the goal area. No passing back to the goalkeeper. If a player passes back to the goalkeeper – penalty. The ball has to touch another player before passing back to the keeper.
5 There is to be no slide tackling. An intentional slide tackle will lead to an automatic yellow card and a 2 minute sin bin. The offending player’s team shall continue the game with 6 players.
6 Corners will only be awarded should the ball go off the defending team behind the goal. If a defender intentionally goes in the penalty area – penalty. If the goalkeeper comes outside the penalty area – penalty.
7 If goalkeeper deliberately causes ball to go above head height – direct free kick on edge of area (i.e. 2m from point that ball left area). Otherwise in the case of a save the match shall continue.
8 Substitution can only be made if the ball is out of play, before a free kick or when the keeper has the ball. There are only three substitutions allowed 2 out field and 1 keeper.
9 Once a player is substituted he cannot return to play in the same game.
Bookable Offences 1. Swearing at the referee or at any other player. 2. Threatening behaviour. 3. Fighting with other players or the referee.
The normal rules of football will apply including the red and yellow card systems. A yellow card will mean a 2minute sin bin.
Changes: • All free kicks are direct unless stated. • Once handled a Goalkeeper must roll the ball out – Penalty • Ball must be below head height. • No off sides • No Heading
In the event of the hooter blowing; if a penalty has already been awarded then it shall be allowed to be taken. All teams must provide their own kit predominantly of the same colour.
All Weather Pitch Please remember the following when using the pitch: • You must ensure that you wear clean footwear when using the pitch. • Chin Pads are also a requirement. This will be checked on. In the case of a substitution the play will not be halted for the change of chin pads. The player will be asked to wait off the field of play until ready. • No screw in studs of any description is allowed. Trainers or boots with moulded studs are to be worn. • No Jewellery can be worn during the game. • No player will be allowed to take their shirts off on the pitch. • No smoking inside the perimeter fence. • No food must be taken onto the pitch. • Do not climb over the fences, use the gates. • Do not kick footballs against the buildings or fence.
The referee’s decisions are final in all matters. The organisers reserve the right to change the rules or format of the competition.
12yrs and under Football Rules
All the rules will be equivalent to the 5-a-side tournament rules except for the following:-
a) Each team can have a squad of up to a maximum number of 10 players.
b) There will be no "head height" rule i.e. the ball can be kicked over head height.
c) There will be no restriction for the goalkeeper to throw the ball under-arm. He is now allowed to throw the ball out over-arm, should he wish to do so. However he must not kick the ball to start play.
