Khums is an important pillar of the Islamic economic system and an essential obligation for a Muslim. It is the most common tax in the Shi’ah law of Islam since it applies to the savings and the profits on an annual basis. It was introduced by the grandfather of the Holy Prophet, Abdul Muttalib upon a command given to him by Allah and has been emphasised repeatedly by the Holy Prophet and all the Imams.

To provide girls with opportunities for self-development as strong Shia women

Young Girls Camp 2006

Khawateen presents the 2006 Young Girls Camp, for girls aged 8-11. The camp shall take place at Birmingham Jammat from 30th May to the 2nd June. Special attention to bulugh matters. Activities include outings, workshops, games and much more!

Young Girl's Camp 2005

In May of this year the young girl’s camp was very kindly hosted by Milton Keynes Jamaat.
A group of 34 girls arrived at the imambara equipped with sleeping bags, ready for their three day sleepover.
