The Khawateen Committee of CoEJ presents this years' Young Girls Camp.

A camp for girls aged between 8 -11 years to be held at Wessex Jamaat, Portsmouth during the week of 27 to 30 May 2008 at a cost of only £85.00.

The aim of the camp is to provide an opportunity for girls within our community to meet one another, find common goals and develop lasting friendships as they become baligh and embark upon their journey towards the Almighty.

Within a fun and relaxed environment they engage in self development, and sometimes challenging, activities that encourage teamwork and strengthens their akhlaq.

Netball, football, badminton, table tennis and swimming were the order of the day when young Muslim women took part in a sporting tournament.

About 200 women, including about 40 from the Peterborough area, competed in a series of games during the 12th Annual European Muslims Women's Sports Tournament held at the Deepings Leisure Centre, in Deeping St James, near Peterborough.

The event was organised by the Women's Desk of the Council of European Jamaats, which aims to strengthen women's self-esteem and self-development.
