Stanmore, UK Kumail was born in Mombasa and moved to London in 2004 at the age of 16. Kumail completed his GCSEs and then his A-levels. He is currently undertaking a degree in Mathematics with Management and Finance at King's College, London. Kumail has participated in Islamic short courses such as the Nakuru Summer Camp in 2000, the Peterborough Winter Camp in 2004 and the Madinah al-Ilm Summer Course in 2005. Kumail has also taught at the Madresah in Stanmore for two years teaching Akhlaq to classes 5 and 7.
Kumail's hobbies include reading, swimming and mountain climbing. He remembers with fondness the channel crossing at Fort Jesus in Mombasa. In December 2003 Kumail completed his Duke of Edingburgh Gold Award by climbing Mt. Kenya.
Kumail says, 'I believe there is nothing great about being better than someone else, rather true nobility lies in being superior to your former self. I hope to be able to live up to that ideal and instil that in the boys that come to this programme. I thank Allah(s.w.t) for having given me this opportunity of being a helper. I think it will be a very good experience and will give me a chance to do something for others. I hope and pray that I am able to discharge my duty well." |
