The CoEJ Muharram Quiz received a phenomenal response with exactly one-hundred entrants taking part from all over the world. Entries were predominantly received from Europe, but community members from as far away as Dar-es-Salaam, Burundi and Hyderabad also took part.
The winners for the quiz were split between the two categories (under 16s, and those aged 16 and over).
We are very happy to announce that Ghulam Hussain Zailai from Leicester won the under 16s section with a score of 31, and that Sister Zahra Jaffer from Wessex won the 16+ category with a score of 35 (out of a possible 36).
The top five scores from both categories are listed below.

The World Federation achieved recognition and affiliation with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations in August 2007. It is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) that engages with national and international bodies to achieve its goals which are causes or issues that promote the common or public good.
It realises the importance of working in partnership with the Regional Federations if the community is to maximise the opportunities ahead of us. There is little chance of The World Federation doing this work successfully if those on the ground are not fully aware of what the NGO is and how they can improve their operations.
Therefore, as part of the global efforts to take forward the NGO agenda across the community, The Council Of European Jamaats is seeking to appoint NGO coordinators to The World Federation.
