Muharram 1429 Nawha CDs E-mail

Image
Nawha recordings by three of our vibrant Khoja Youths, namely Husein Virji of Stanmore and Shabbir & Abbas Tejani of Peterborough for Muharram 1429 AH will soon be available on CDs.

Husein, Shabbir and Abbas are all born in the UK and have been reciting nawhas, marthiyas, munaajaats and qasidas in Urdu since the age of five.  They have been invited all over the UK, as well as Europe, North America and Africa, to recite.  These young men, now in their early twenties, are seasoned nawha khwaans, and their reciting ability is on par with most of the renowned Pakistani reciters, who many Jamaats invite during Muharram/Safar for marthiyas and nawha recitation.  These young men are students at university but their love for the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) has kept the fire of Azadari burning in their hearts as they recite the eulogies of the King of Martyrs, Hussain ibn Ali (a.s.).

According to a hadith by Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (a.s.) “There is none who recites poetry about Husain (a.s.) and weeps and makes others weep by means of it, except that Allah makes Paradise incumbent upon him and forgives his sins.”  (Rijal al Shaikh al  Tusi pg. 189).

They are the role models for our young children who aspire to become our reciters of tomorrow..

Husein and Shabbir & Abbas have recently completed recording their latest nawha CD’s, which will be released just before Muharram 1429 – the release date is 5th January 2008.  Husein’s CD is entitled “Ye Gham Hussain Ka” and Shabbir & Abbas’s CD is entitled “Seyyda Fatema”.  The nawhas have been written for them by Rehan Azmi, the most prolific writer of Urdu nawhas, and who is in the Guinness Book of Records for his achievements.  Shabbir and Abbas have written three of their own nawhas too, no mean feat in itself.

The nawhas have been professionally recorded in a studio in England, and are of the highest quality in all aspects, sound/recording quality, words and vocals.  Ahlulbayt Satellite Channel has asked for DVD versions of the nawhas, and these will be aired during the forthcoming Muharram.

CoEJ has whole-heartedly endorsed this initiative.

Watch out for the CDs at your local Jamaat or you may contact Abdul Virji on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for your copy.
