| Graduates and Under Graduates are invited to a special session in Stanmore to learn more about enroling for this exciting four year course at Sayyida Zainab, Damascus. The first batch of 15 students will start their studies in September 2007 at the newly established, Islamic Institute for Postgraduate Studies in Sayyida Zainab, Damascus (Syria). The first 15 graduates to apply from anywhere in the World will be enroled.
The four year course is designed specifically for you and the needs of the community in today's world. It is a new and exciting development in teaching and research in the study of Islam. It is an independent institute set up by The World Federation of KSIMC that offers a postgraduate Masters programme in Islamic Studies, combining standard Hawza training modules with modern academic subjects, validated by a renowned university in England. London Jamaat is offering 4 scholarships for this course. Here is your chance to follow the edict of the Qur'an that asks you to go forth to seek knowledge and come back to help your community. At the end of the four years, you
- will have a masters degree from a University in UK
- will be proficient in Arabic to allow you to explore the vast knowledge of Islam available in Arabic
- will have had an indepth study of Qur'an and its exegesis, sciences of Traditions, Jurisprudence, Principles of Jurisprudence, Logic, History, Islamic Theology, Philosophy and Ethics.
- will have mastered the art of communication with different strata of humans, to lead congregational prayers, to conduct seminars, to guide children's madressah, schools, to interact with the youth
- will be able to proceed for a Phd, or help the community as a resident aalim or go into academia or go into research or go on to translate and write books. The possibilities are many and varied
- will have interacted with 59 others at the institute over the 4 year period. Can you imagine the network you will have established to bring about major changes in our community, society and humanity.
Jaffer Dharamsi, the co-ordinator of the course will be present on Friday evening to answer all your queries and to help you decide join the course.
