Allamah Syed Murtaza Askari Passes Away in Tehran |

Inna Lillah Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajioon. The World Federation has received sad news of the passing away of Allamah Syed Murtaza Askari in Tehran at the age of 98.
A former student of Imam Khomeini and Ayatullah Hakim, Syed Askari was a leading researcher and authored many books on aqaid, hadith and history. He also founded numerous educational centres in both Iraq and Iran. Many of his own students are now leading scholars and academics.
His students state that Syed Askari was unique in the number of people he managed to bring to the Shia faith. One of the most interesting pieces of his research concluded that 150 so called 'companions' of the Holy Prophet (saw) never even existed and are completely made up. Mu'mineen are requested to recite Sura Fatiha. Jamaats are encouraged to hold Majlis e Aza. |
