An Appeal for 200 Houses for the Homeless - Aftermath of Pakistan Earthquake 2005
“Indeed those who have believed and migrated and waged jihad with their possessions and persons in the way of Allah, and those who gave them shelter and help - they are heirs of one another…” (8:72)
Almost three years after the devastating earthquake hit Northern Pakistan, thousands remain homeless. These victims of the quake continue to live in makeshift homes such as tents – where their greatest assets are blankets to keep them warm from the cold temperatures of the region.

History in East Africa by Mulla Asgharali M.M. Jaffer
The Africa Federation Archives is pleased to bring back into circulation an article written by Marhum Mulla Asgharali M M Jaffer which outlines the history of the Khoja Shia Ithna Asheris in East Africa. In his Forward, Marhum Mulla Saheb wrote: "Maulana Syed Saeed Akhtar Razavi, in his capacity as a Director of the Preparatory Committee of the first Conference of World Ahlulbayt League (held in London on 5th August 1983), requested me to prepare an outline of the role of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheris in East Africa. As this paper was being sent to Press for publication, additions were made, and some notes were annexed. This is an outline, which can be given a detailed treatment later. It is hoped that it will enlighten many who are interested in the history of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheris who lived in Africa." This work was dedicated to: |

The place where we perform our Saee – the walk between Safa and Marwa in Umra – is currently closed for renovation. They have built a new corridor for people to walk between Safa and Marwa adjacent to the old corridor and have diverted all traffic to this new corridor. |
