Zainab Rashid - A Teacher's Journey |
|
One of the Madressa teachers from Zainabiya Madressa - Milton Keynes is about to embark on a 'journey of a lifetime'. Zainab Rashid will be leaving the UK, on the 3rd July, to go to Kibaha as a volunteer Teacher. Kibaha is a village about 45km from the city of Dar-es-salaam.
She will spend about a month, mainly helping the children of Whipas School; a boarding facility which supports over 2000 children (on a charitable basis). She plans to teach English, to some of the younger children, helping out as a Teaching assistant in other classes - as well as looking after the children throughout the day, at meal times and bed time.
There are many orphanages in the local area and Zainab also plans to spend some time amongst young orphans, seeing how they live, spending time with them and joining in on their day to day activities.
Fresh water is supplied to the village from various wells, the village is actively searching out new water supply, Zainab will be involved in helping build new wells.
Zainab plans to give out gifts to the children, from donations received from friends and community members of the Milton Keynes jamaat. Please help the Madressa by making a small donation - so that toys, books, pens and pencils can be purchased for these underprivileged children. If you would like to help with this cause, please contact Zainab, and make your pledge on 07834 826447.
