The third meeting of Madaaris heads in Europe was held on 28 January hosted by Hujjat Saturday Workshop, Stanmore. The meeting was a continuation of the previous one held in Milton Keynes. The key conclusions from the meeting are listed below however CoEJ Education felt that one major outcome stands out. This is the renewed effort of all the Madaaris heads to move forward unified in their aims and objectives to standardise and better the Madrasah Education in Europe. |

On 18th November the second meeting of the Heads of Madaaris in Europe was held by the Council of European Jamaats and hosted by the Zainabiya Madrasah, Milton Keynes . As with the first meeting and with all subsequent meetings the first part was a tour of the Milton Keynes Madrasah. The tour was conducted by the principle Hasnain Kara and the heads had the opportunity to see the classes in action.
The main meeting was conducted by Dr Sibtain Panjwani. As past chairman of the Education Board and Secretary General of the World Federation, Dr Sibtain delivered an interesting presentation focussing on past achievements of the community in the field of Madrasah and how we can develop the work that has already been carried out. The presentation ended with a lively discussion on developing broad objectives and a framework around which all European Madaaris can work towards. |

The first meeting after many years of Heads of Madaaris in Europe was held by The Council of European Jamaat’s Education Committee and hosted by Stanmore Shia Ithna Asheri Madressah (SIM) on Sunday April 29th. The meeting was well attended by Heads and administrators from Madaaris across Europe. The meeting commenced with a tour of the host Madrasah in action. The brothers were shown around by Shafiquebhai Govani, Principal of SIM and Zeeshanbhai Kanji, vice principle. The ladies were shown around by Sister Fehmidabai Merali, the lady coordinator at SIM. During the course of the tour, ideas were exchanged and the heads had an opportunity to see how SIM dealt with classes of different levels. The tour also led to fruitful discussions on syllabus and teaching techniques. |
