Khums is an important pillar of the Islamic economic system and an essential obligation for a Muslim. It is the most common tax in the Shi’ah law of Islam since it applies to the savings and the profits on an annual basis. It was introduced by the grandfather of the Holy Prophet, Abdul Muttalib upon a command given to him by Allah and has been emphasised repeatedly by the Holy Prophet and all the Imams.

The Education Committee of the Council of European Jamaats presents the Freshers Fair 2006. The programme is designed for university freshers, to supply them with some of the necessary tools for a successful university life and future.

CoEJ Sweden Boys Camp 2006

The Education Committee of the Council of European has organised the 8th Summer Residential Boys Summer Camp in Sweden. At a nominal cost of £289 (subsidised from £580) the Camp will offer a wide range of targeted activities, classes and exercises in an Islamic setting. With the motto ‘towards excellence’ the objective of CoEJ Sweden Summer Camps is clear; to train and develop campers in the academic, physical, personnel and spiritual spheres of life.
