Muslim Youth Helpline
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Location: Swiss Cottage, NW London

 

The Muslim Youth Helpline (MYH) is a national award winning charity providing faith and culturally sensitive support services to young Muslims in the UK.  Its core services are a free and confidential Helpline, and an online peer support forum.

 

Service users are at the centre of Muslim Youth Helpline’s work. We are seeking to appoint a full-time Head of Support Services to manage and lead the Support Services department at the Muslim Youth Helpline. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring we provide a quality service for thousands of clients across our telephone, email and online support channels, as well as for our Prison clients. They will deliver the highest quality service user and volunteer care, while ensuring a consistent standard of service.

 

A health or social care background is essential for this post and candidates should be of graduate calibre (or equivalent). Knowledge of the contemporary social and welfare issues affecting Muslim youth is also required.

 

The successful candidate will lead the MYH Support Services staff team in supporting Helpline Officers, Shift Leaders and volunteer helpline workers deal with complex cases, and ensuring MYH provides a quality service to all of our clients through developing and implementing client care guidelines to enhance the quality of care provided. MYH is a vibrant and innovative organisation, and the successful applicant will contribute to the dynamism that lies at the heart of MYH’s success.

 

You will be an enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, who can work with flexibility and tenacity, when faced with varied and challenging situations. You will need to be passionate about working with and supporting young British Muslims, and enhancing the Support Services’ dynamic and creative team.
