The astronomical New Moon is on Thursday 27 November 2008 at 4.56pm. The crescent will not be visible anywhere in the world on this day. It will be visible in Southern and Central America and Southern Africa on Friday, 28 Novmenr 2008. According to the rulings of Ayatullah Sistani (based on the Theory of Differing Horozons), 1st of Dhu al Hijjah will be on Sunday, 30 November 2008. As for the Muqallideen of Marhum Ayatullah Khui, 1st of Dhu al Hijjah will be on Saturday, 29 November 2008. The Hilal advisory Team will confirm the sighting as soon as possible.
