CareersDay2010Posterv2The Careers Day 2010 aims to help you in every stage in the transition from school to a career. Similar events have been held in 2007 (Birmingham) and 2008 (London) which were thoroughly successful.

With sessions for Freshers, students looking to secure Graduate employment as well as general Careers Advice; we aim to offer an informative and highly beneficial event.

Venue: Husaini Shia Islamic Center, Wood Lane, Stanmore, HA7 4LQ

Update 31/08/10: 16 spaces available for Freshers Fair, 16 for Graduates Seminar and 27 for Careers Fair. Apply as soon as possible to secure your place!

Update 18/08/10: Registration forms are now open. Everyone is encouraged to apply early to secure their place.

Freshers Fair
The Freshers' workshop is designed to give you the tools and the strategies to enjoy and succeed in your university years. This includes advice and ideas regarding student finances, study tips, dealing with tricky social situations, maintaining your faith and inshAllah a lot more. We will try to find people from within the community who can provide university and course specific information.

Graduates
With some surveys suggesting that there are 270 applicants for every graduate jobs in some fields; getting your CV and interview technique perfect has never been more important. We plan to lead you through the key components of the graduate applications process: from perfecting your CV, acing the interview and making the perfect assessment-centre presentation; which is a common feature for many graduate roles.

Careers Fair
This session is designed to give you access to professionals from every field - so you can find out what career you are interested in, what grades you need and what working conditions are like. InshAllah we plan to organise a seminar on entrepreneurship; which is fast becoming an excellent route to success for many individuals.
