ImageAliyah was born in 1988 in London. She has two younger siblings; a brother and a sister and currently resides in Birmingham. She attended  King Edward VI Camp Hill School for her secondary education where she obtained top GCSE grades. She then went on the achieve A-Levels in Mathematics, Biology, Psychology and General Studies  at Camp Hill Sixth Form. She has recently completed her first year of studying Optometry at Aston University, and has passed all her first year exams.
 
In the past Aliyah has worked as an assistant teacher at the Muhammadi Madressa in Birmingham and has taken courses including embroidery and cake decorating. She has participated in charity events such as the Iraqi Tube Collection and done voluntary work in a charity shop and post office. She currently works in a high street optician.
 
Sport is one of her favourite pastimes and she enjoys playing badminton with friends of family at least once a week, as well as going swimming. Aliyah also loves reading and travelling and has been to Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Florida, Egypt, Switzerland, Majorca and Spain.
 
Aliyah has attended revision and summer camps organised by CoEJ in the passed as a camper. She is now grateful for the chance to take part in the Sweden Camp as a mentor and looks on it as a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, learn through sharing each others experience as well as to give something back to the community.
