After Fajr the girls arose ready and prepared for the exciting day that lay ahead and trooped to their classes. It was a special day as it was
Fatema aunty’s birthday; the girls presented a surprise birthday card they had worked hard to create and a delicious chocolate cake that was enjoyed by the teachers and campers alike. The girls were ready to begin an adventurous afternoon of activities and we set out to begin our journey to tackle the great outdoors!
We arrived at the activities centre surrounded by elegant tall trees and the sun shone through the clouds which allowed us to begin our first activity, basketball! We competitively played basketball with fatema aunty on our team and then on to playing frisby with nikhat aunty with a fantastic demonstrating of diving in the sand.
We were lead by Joanne our Swedish collaboration course instructor through a very intensive collaboration course that allowed the girls to work effectively within a team, they showed fantastic communication skills and were able to accomplish the tasks that were set.
We are all becoming fluent in Swedish the catchphrase of the day was ‘hut hut’ (in the Swedish accent) taught by Joanne which was incredibly effective in ushering the campers to the PDT house, where Mars gave a very informative news brief.
Before we retired to bed a discovery was made in the Venus house, a special cupboard was found that had a pungent odour wafting into the corridor, inside was an inconspicuous orange Sainsbury’s bag, inside we discovered four pairs of very smelly socks!!! The make shift sock laundry basket by the camper who-shall-not-be-named has now been resolved!
