On 8th May the Khawateen committee of the CoEJ organised a two day retreat in the hills of Wales.
The group stayed at Barlings Barn which was surrounded by a lumber forest and little lambs hopping about. The Barn had its own swimming pool and sauna giving the ladies a chance to rejuvenate physically, and relax amongst the cozy company of ladies only. It further gave them the opportunity to network with ladies of different jamaats building a bond of friendship.
By the evening the relationship among the ladies got stronger and there were interesting discussions on bringing up children, marriage and matchmaking. A real community spirits could be seen amongst ladies who had only met a few hours ago.
The theme for the weekend was ‘detoxing body and mind’, where all had an informative and useful discussion/workshop on healthy lifestyles and emotional intelligence.
On Sunday morning at 7:30 am the excited group in their walking shoes braved the climb to the lumber forest to enjoy the breathtaking views and to appreciate the exhilarating beauty of Allah’s handiwork.
A special spiritual bonding was created among ladies when all prayed the special amaal on rain water and shared it.
The experience was summed up by one of them in the following words..
“The venue chosen was excellent choice of breathtaking countryside, perfect privacy and an allowance of tireless fun. We made new friends and grew closer to those we already knew.”
This years retreat was truly a memorable one which inshAllah
Alhamdullilah this year’s retreat provided the ladies an occasion to develop themselves, energise their spirits and inshAllah further their friendship into lasting relationships.
