
Khawateen is involved in a variety of projects and areas dealing with women. the following information gives an insight into some of these issues.
Sports
To promote and strengthen the self development & self esteem for women
Positive Parenting
To support parents in raising well balanced Islamic children from 0-16 years
- Professional and Islamic insight into child development, behaviours and needs
- Inform parents of the different approaches to child rearing in today’s context given the various pressures & challenges
- Raise awareness for Parents to discuss their issues and to create a support structure for themselves
- Regular workshops targeting specific age range for children from 0-16 years and for expectant mothers.
- Raising awareness amongst parents about Child Protection Issues and emphasis on Children’s welfare being Paramount( Children’s Act 1989)
Bereavement
To provide Islamic education to reflect the needs of women and their changes in lifestyle throughout their lives
- Provide confidential Counselling & support by help line
- Provide booklet consisting of vital information on social security benefits, legal and financial
- Establish links with European jamaats so as to maximise resources & hold annual function
- To launch road shows, thereby, taking specialist knowledge and expertise to all jamaats
- Provide provision for resettlement
Women's Health
To provide tailored health education and services for women
- Liaise with HIB
- Raise awareness and provide appropriate information to the female members of the community with current health issues.
- Dispense information by organizing lectures, seminars and discussion sessions
- Provide resources, medical contacts and service information
- Create awareness by projects such as healthy eating & dietary advice
Girl's Camp
Residential Summer camps organised within Europe with objective to:
- Provide opportunities for girls to develop a sense of responsibility and maturity
- To promote understanding and respect for Muslim women both within and outside community and Harmonize Western living with Islamic principles
- Create relationships around Europe
- Experience different environments
Special Projects
- Identify the needs of the youth by active liaison and through confidential questionnaire.
- Examine how to combat youth issues within the community and family dimensions
- Forming and leading a local team of volunteers with specific skills and requirements to help COEJ meet objectives it has set out.
- To provide building blocks to create healthy marital relationship within the community.
- Closely work with the WF Women’s Desk to deliver specific services to women of our community.
